Exudation and Refinement

Our Process:

Our Gum Arabic (Acacia Gum) comes in many different forms and grades - raw, processed, grounded, powder and finally spray dried. We farm, harvest, process, and spray dry to meet and exceed our client's supply/quality requirements.

1) Harvest

Gum Arabic can only be harvested from the Acacia tree commonly found in the Sahelian region & central regions of Africa. We make sure there is always enough harvest to meet the needs of our clients. In order to properly harvest Gum Arabic, it needs to forego a process called “tapping”.  The Acacia tree is tapped by cutting or drilling holes/incision into its branches. From there the tree naturally extracts this gum like substance. Once it has exuded or leaked out, it hardens and is ready for harvesting.

2) Processing and Refinement

The Gum Arabic is then processed which involves sieving, decanting, centrifuging, concentrating, pasteurizing, and atomizing, followed by spray drying. The Gum Arabic goes through an intensive cleaning process followed by atomized dehydration, and the mill/crusher for producing powder/granules.

3) Packaging and Shipping

After our Gum Arabic is harvested and processed, it is then weighed and packaged locally to meet and exceed our client's supply requirements. At Xavier International, we ensure a dependable supply and consistent quality each and every time.
